Walking on the road to Emmaus on the same day that Jesus appeared to Mary and Mary Magdalene, were two of the disciples. They were according to Luke; 24 verses 13 – 35<\/a>, talking about the events that had happened.<\/p>\n Jesus walks with them but they did not know him. He asked questions about the last few days as if he was unaware.<\/p>\n “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who does not know the things that have taken place there in these days?” asks the disciple, and he goes on to recount all the events to Jesus.<\/p>\n After listening, Jesus becomes known to them and they are amazed to be with him and plead for him to stay with them forever.<\/p>\n Sometimes we are all very blind to things we don’t want to see or are unable to understand. The disciples were still in a state of shock and disbelief.<\/p>\n I wonder what questions we would have asked?<\/p>\n How would we recognise if Jesus is walking alongside us?<\/p>\n What would we want to tell him about our lives and things that are happening today?<\/p>\n Rev’d Sue Martin Curate at Gayton Group of parishes<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n
