Walking down from the Elephant and Castle on the Walworth Rd, and finding my way to the Electric Elephant cafe on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>A very welcome coffee and start to my placement with <a title=\"Near Neighbours Fund\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cuf.org.uk\/near-neighbours\/grants\">Near Neighbours <\/a> project from the Church Urban Fund.<\/p>\n<p>The next four weeks will be a real mix of places to go and people to see, a real &#8216;walkabout&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Already I have explored the East St Market, running at right angles to Walworth Rd, found my way through the side streets to <a title=\"St Peter's Walworth\" href=\"http:\/\/www.stpeterswalworth.org\/\">St Peter&#8217;s Church, <\/a> walked into the Caribbean bakery and then back to the Rockingham estate community centre to meet with the Bengali Women&#8217;s group.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" hspace=\"10\" alt=\"sp\" vspace=\"10\" align=\"left\" src=\"http:\/\/www.faithgoeswalkabout.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/sp.jpg\" width=\"100\" height=\"123\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A real adventure and beyond that I will be going to activities for children and families and find out how they work and what opportunities are available.<\/p>\n<p>Rev&#8217;d Sue Martin<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What a contrast!
